All Learners Succeed

Forensic science is an indispensable component of the  criminal investigation process. Forensics involves the scientific collection, analysis, and presentation of evidence within courts of law to promote justice.  Students are exposed to various criminal cases via media and be introduced to the multitude of tools used to solve such cases. The realm of forensic science helps students dive into the concepts of chromatography, ballistics, toxicology, pathology, microscopy, microbiology, DNA extraction, dissection, fingerprinting and analysis of various crime scene evidence.   Students in this program will use the actual processes, techniques, procedures, and equipment, which modern day forensic scientists use.  Students  have the resources and technology needed to collect, analyze, and present findings through the integration of the SmartLab at Slater. This program provides students with a student centered approach to STEM and a safe and welcoming learning environment which encourages heathy risk taking and helps students become more independent thinkers and learners.
